Our shop 2020 Road Glide is finally "finished" and ready to showcase some of our favorite products and brands. This build went through several phases while we tested out different exhaust and product combinations until we found the look, feel and power we were happy with. We'll start with the front of the bike and work our way to the back to highlight all the amazing products that went into this bike. 

Front End/Suspension:

First up the front end suspension, we opted to use the Kraus KR8 Ohlins Inverted Front End Kit with a few custom modifications. This top of the line kit is designed specifically for performance Harley Baggers. It includes Ohlins inverted front forks, KR8 triple trees , Kraus brake mounts, and KR8 fork guards to protect the fork seals. It is available to fit 2008-2013 Harley Touring Models (1" Stem) or 2014-Up Harley Touring Models (30mm Stem).

Next up that crazy looking brake and caliper setup, the Beringer 4D Aerotec Braking System will have you stopping on a dime. With less weight, a small diameter means a greatly reduced gyroscopic effect which helps keep things tight on twisty roads and tracks. Beringer offers these in several color options for a custom look you won't find anywhere else. Note: Our KR8 kit was modified to fit this brake setup.

To perfectly round out this front end lineup, the BST Carbon Fiber Front Wheel was paired with the Metzeler 130/60B19 Cruistec Tire.

Cosmetic front end upgrades featured here include the Hofmann Carbon Fiber Mid Length Fender and the Hofmann Carbon Fiber Lower Triple Tree Cover. In the fairing you'll find the Amber Baja LP6 light for Road Glide models, Custom Dynamics Turn Signals and the Klock Werks 9" Dark Smoke Sport Flare Windshield.

Hand Controls/Bar Setup

Moving up into the cockpit you'll find the Kraus Wolf One 10" Pro T-Bar Kit paired with the Kraus Raptor Plate. The Wolf One Pro T-Bar kit includes the 1-1/8" FM Fly Moto Style Black Bars, 10" Kickback Risers, Wolf One Billet Bagger Top Clamp and Billet Gauge Bezel. We did have to extend the wiring for this setup, so we grabbed a 15" Over Stock Wiring Extension and Instrument Harness Extension to adjust to the correct length.

Hand controls - Grips: ODI Hart-Luck TBW Full Waffle Lock-On Grips , Mirrors: Arlen Ness Mini Stocker Mirrors and PSR Anthem Pro Levers plus some TSC Perch Clamps to finish it off.

On the gas tank you'll find the Hofmann Carbon Fiber Dash and Hofmann 12 point Gas Cap. For engine and tank protection we installed the Santoro Fabworx Not Yo Daddy's Bagger Crash Guard.

All those fancy pieces don't make a difference if you're still rolling that stock motor. This bike was upgraded to a Custom T-Man 143" Kit. After some Dyno time this bike is pushing north of 170 HP / 170 TQ. It was paired with a custom HPI Full Length Exhaust, custom T-Man Window Air Cleaner and Baker's Grudgebox Transmission.

On the opposite side of motor, we removed the stock horn cover and replaced it with a black MYM Air Scoop. This gives it a cleaner look while still bringing in some air to the back cylinder.

Our foot Controls feature the Kraus Max Lean Foot Control Kit which includes the Max Lean Floorboards, Shifter/Brake pedal and arms. The floorboards are engineered to sit closer to the rider’s center of gravity compared to stock floorboards. Plus since no two riders are identical, width and pitch are fully adjustable to maximize rider comfort. We matched the rear passenger foot controls using the Kraus Max Lean Mini Floorboards.  

In the saddle, we have the Tuck N Roll Tour Step-Up Seat from Saddlemen which offers a slightly larger seating area for the passenger. 

No performance Harley would be complete without top of the line suspension. Ohlins HD 779 suspension is their newest version for the Bagger models, sporting the iconic Gold & Black Ohlins logo. This kit also includes a set of brackets to nicely mount the reservoirs.  

Moving on down, we swapped out the stock swingarm for a Speed Dealer Performance Swingarm which is proudly manufactured from a solid piece of billet aluminum right here in the USA with attention to detail. These are also available in several colors to bring that touch of custom to your bike. We also utilized the Speed Dealer Mount with the Beringer Radial Caliper on the rear.

You will also notice the belt was upgraded to a chain drive setup. We opted for the 51-tooth Alloy Art Cush Drive Chain Sprocket kit paired with the PBI 25-tooth Mainshaft Transmission Sprocket. The chain is a Black EK 530 Series, they are our go to option whenever we make this upgrade. 

Rounding out the primary we used the Star Compensator Ramp and all new Rekluse APEX Clutch & Basket Kit. We found this was able to hold all the power while only requiring a minimal clutch pull effort. This is important to note because hand fatigue, especially in traffic, can be an issue for riders when you start building bigger motors.

The rear stock wheel was upgraded to the BST Twin Tek 18" x 5.5" Carbon Fiber Rear Wheel with the Metzeler Cruisetec Rear Tire - 180/55B18

This bike came stock with the Harley stretched bags, but we like the look of the Shorty Bags from Harley. You can grab them directly from Harley or you can do one better and pick up a set of Hofmann Carbon Fiber Chopped Shorty Bags. To complete the back end, we have the Hofmann Carbon Fiber Rear Fender and a set of Custom Dynamics Probeam Fillerz Saddlebag LED Lights. These lights sit tucked in the back and are bright enough to be seen on the road day or night. 

Like we said before, this bike took several phases to complete. There are a lot of upgrades done to this bike, but after each big piece it's important for many riders to make sure they are comfortable with their bike. Change the bars, take it for a ride. Make sure you are comfortable with it before you do a big motor upgrade. Even something as straight forward as swapping the stock wheels for a set of BST Carbon Fiber will have a huge impact on how the bike handles on the road. All these upgrades are geared toward giving you the best riding experience as possible. And we can honestly report they deliver on every level.
